Hi all,
I ordered my distribution blower and am not really looking forward to installing it. I am a DIY guy, and love doing things myself. However, there never seems to be any videos of the XXV on youtube, just accentra and P series. Can someone either show me where to find them, or post videos of how to do the hard stuff?

I'm looking for:
-replacing igniter (if different than accentra process
-combustion blower
-distribution blower

anything else I might need.

*I'm legitimately willing to PayPal someone $20 just to have these for future use. Thanks!

Dist. blower is the same as an accentra, just hangs in a box under the stove.Igniter is the same.comb. blower easy.

Thanks, I've seen that video. My overall biggest concern is the distribution blower. I've watched the video on another unit, but If I recall correctly it is pulled from the back. I thought I remember someone here saying for the XXV that it is to be done from underneath. Is that correct?

Oh,there are quite a few complaints about squeaks and rattles on the xxv, over the years, sometimes the sheet metal screws were too long, and caused these problems.Supposedly you can see the wear/marks when the blower is out,and removed from the box.

Had to fix mine for exactly that problem. 2 Screws were too long and made nasty buzz. Got the stove in May last year and started using it in Sep. 2 months later Buzz. Had new fan ordered even. Could not fix it until pulled fan out. Stove was Floor Model and Built in 2014. Glad I got older model and not XXV TC with more expensive parts.

Did our Distro Blower couple months ago. Yes it's under the stove. About 4 bolts. Fiddly, but not overly hard.

Did you remove your stove from the wall, or do it all from underneath? My stove is fairly tight, about 9 inches from wall (caddy corner). Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

How long did it take you?

My Stove sits on large stone platform and did not have to move it. Took about hour to fiddle it back. 10 min to get it out. Used small wrench.

This is summer picture. Nothing on both sides in Winter. Easy to get to work on.

Thanks for your replies. Would you try pulling the old unit out from under while stove is on, or is that a bad idea? I'm curious about the unit and I just got the new blower in today.

I'm guessing it isn't wise, curious what you think.

Don't pull it with the stove on. You have live elec wires you have to disconnect. Only 2 if I remember. No Ground wire. You have to swap fan with old fan in frame. My problem was screws impacting the frame. Easy fix. But I ordered fan convinced it was bad. I plan on having extra parts onhand in the future, so no biggie.

Do let the stove COOL OFF too. Your going to need to remove both panels in the back. I replaced those bolts with thumb screws from hardware store. Easy to remove them for cleaning that way. Couple of bucks.

Thanks. I figured as much. Temps warm up Saturday, so I'll do it then. Great idea about the thumb screws. I'll try to make the same as well.

What the FREAK!!!
I am beyond frickin pissed pissed and can't freaking get the mother f'er back in. I'm stuck with the 4 trucking bolts to get in underneath and the stupid skinny piece of metal that hooks in. can someone PLEASE take a picture of the blower area from inside and underneath. It's 1 in the freaking morning and I can't do this. Temps will be 24/12 I'm 2 days and I gotta have this running.

I CANNOT figure out how to get screws back in. This is exactly why I was hoping to find XXV videos, cause it is not the same as the accentra.

So irritated and pissed. it should not be this hard.

Well, got it in. that was stupid. I think I made it harder on myself being 200 pounds and trying to squeeze myself into the nooks behind the catty-corner stove. Sadly, I got the bolts or screws in 5 minutes after my bitter rant. Kinda funny. Anyway , I hope I don't need to replace it again anytime soon. I really do appreciate this board and all the wisdom you all provide. I also appreciate that I was able to get the oem part delivered to my house like Amazon prime fast from GALCO. However posted that cheat sheet is amazing. I paid $136 total delivered in 3 days. It left the warehouse that day and showed up 2 days later.

I am a DIY guy, but sadly it takes me much longer than average. Not sure why.

Thanks again.

Did you make a Video for the next guy :)

It's not in area you can make video unless the stove is up in the air. With working stove that would be very hard to do. I guess that's why no video exist. It's under the stove in the rear. It has to be done by touch and feel.

I thought about. Glad I didn't. It woulda been ugly! Plus, there isn't much room to get good angles since it is right. Plus, as dataman said
it would be much better if it was on a counter or something to get better visuals of the working parts.

The 2 worst parts were the little metal bracket which is inside the housing that needs to be put in. And, the wires! I could not detach the wire harness, one was stuck. That sucked, and I sliced my knuckle really good once i finally got it detached.

All in all, I'm glad I did it and would be much quicker if I didn't fully remove some screws. I didn't realize I only need to fully remove 2 silver screws. The 2 screws holding up distribution blower only need a loosening.
