hi all, I have a question about a king 5500 I picked up. After putting the wires back to where they are supposed to be and doing some testing, I found the auger motor and igniter are bad. My question is this: how much voltage should be at the auger motor when it runs? I put it in diagnostic mode, push the button till it says auger and put a meter on the red and white wires going to the auger and I get like 2 volts. Is my controller bad?

should be 120vac. make a test cord with an old lamp cord and 2 spade connectors and you can test any motor in your stove.

Check the fuse first, you may be getting stray voltage of 2 volts, that's pretty low.
Ok so try to follow this cluster.... I looked at the miles connector and thought to myself there’s no way they messed this up. But, where the red went through the connector it was just a solder joint. There was no circuit path from that point. So, I traced from the auger fuse to the joint on the molex plug. If I use that point, I get 120v while the diagnostic mode is trying to turn the auger. However when I click off the auger test it drops to 73 volts instead of zero. Does that sound right?

Sounds like the programming in the pic has been corrupted by a short or spike. Diagnostics mode uses a different storage area on the PIC that has not been damaged so it is working as it should (with limitations). Looks like a new board is needed
