Who would redo the top of my porcelain stove?

If you have a non cat maybe you could put it inside the wood stove. 1500 is a lot.

You're right and I've actually thought of trying it even just on a decent coal bed. Worst case scenario is I ruin the paint and just blast it again and try something else

The thermalox paint I used before I got an enamel stove was really good. I found that the brush on, if laid on too thick, definitely peels. The spray paint did not. Lay on thin coats is my reccomendation. Although, I won't go back to paint if I don't have to. Loving the BK enamel. Holding up well so far
Well after doing some research and learning things on here I just ordered a quart of the Thurmalox Satin Black 1200 degree stove paint, they don't have it in gloss (no one seems to) and I think it will be close enough, it is just to touch it up, it already has many different colors and "scars" on it so like I told the guy at the company "I'm not going to be entering it into any beauty contests" lol! They said if I wanted to I could go with a flat black and then put clear gloss on top but I don't want to get into that, I just want to touch it up with some black paint so thank you very much for the recommendation, I don't think I would've stumbled on to their paint if not for you here!

I used Stove Bright paint (not enamel though) and got great results, good luck with Thurmalox, hope it works for you. I dunno if paint is paint, but I'm sure if follow instructions you should be aok.
