Help ID cut wood

Hey Guys,

So walking through the forest I can identify most trees here in the PNW fairly easily. The woodlot I have a permit to cut firewood at there are piles of mixed logs which I am cutting, and I find it much harder to figure out.

Here’s one I don’t know what it is, splits easy with the x27 way heavier than hemlock or Doug fir I cut a lot of.

I also guess a type of cherry or birch.
 
Thanks guys, it most likely is a type of birch as we don't get much big cherry here, but do have lots of birch, most of it is easier to identify by the bark.
 
Looks like black birch to me. I've seen it with bark that thick before.
