Ya, there is not near enough flame for manual high. Should be at least twice that. You said on sunflower in really smoked. Can you run on that setting and get flame set to just above diamond? kap

This is high +2. On this setting it doesn’t matter your setting. It blasts on high all the time.

Now that's more like it. Does it warm up those two rooms on that? kap

And you can play with it by turning down the heat setting and the flame height settings. kap

It warms the rooms but there is no controlling it. It just blasts heat. I can put it down to low -5 and it will look the same. Is that a control board thing

Are you also lowering the heat setting at same time? Could be a possible auger issue too

Lowing the heat when I go into Sunflower Sed mode? Yes, but it really doesnt matter much. It just blasts even on low -5. How could it be an auger issue? Not putting out enough pellets? How do I troubleshoot that? You dont think it is a control board issue. Could be a auger not putting out enough fuel to produce adequate heat. Ok. I go through a lot of pellets for not much heat. Even when I put good pellets in it didnt put out a lot of heat. Ill look into how to monitor the auger and Ill look at the leads going to it. Do you think I need to update my burn tables? I could take my thermostat to a dealer and see if they can upload new ones if theyre willing. Here in Mass, people wont service your stoves unless you buy it from them. It is odd.

I am just looking at all angles. Yes, it still could be the control board. You have to have the whole stove to download fuel tables, as it needs the control board too, no just the wall control. the wall control is just where the cable hooks up to. It is weird most places that won't do service. Must not need the money. I know they didn't like doing it if it was a new stove, and they didn't sell it to you as it only paid 50.00 for a warranty service call.

So how do I troubleshoot the auger? $50 for a service call? I pay 200 just to get them out here. We dont have a lot of repairmen here, so they are swamped with calls. I cant even throw money at this problem cause nobody will take it.

Im hoping it isnt the control board. I feel like I would have different symptoms.

This thing is odd. It is on ML flame +2 and the flame is reaching the top of the diamond. Softwood, not the Sunflower seed setting too.

Way to test auger is to feel auger shaft moving when stove is running, to make sure it is not reversing. If it did it three times in a row, it would trip an error code, but only two, it will do it all day long. It is a long shot, but just trying to cover all bases before the final issue, control board. kap

Bell went off in my head last nite. Going back to your pics of stove, the conv. fan is not hooked up. It is hanging open. This could be your issue. kap

I opened the convection fan for purpose of the pictures to see if anything was wrong. I tested the auger and it seems to be moving clockwise. It is really slow, but I imagine that it is supposed to. I put some pellets in when restarting and a more full pot did lead to much more full flame. Maybe that is the issue. If it is the control board, Ill first take mine out and clean it. Water did get in there when we moved the unit. It was also in a house that had some windows knocked out, so there is some rust around it from the moisture. It feels like the fan, exhaust are working properly.

The glass is really hot but not much hot air coming out. Almost like a weak blow but it sounds like it is pushing really well. Is keeping current space at 66 and is 21 outside. The stove feels like it is producing heat but not blowing it out. The setting is on sunflower seed, which constantly blows on high

Flame looks pretty good, but I could not hold my hand in front of mine that long, without burning the hell out of it. I can barely hold it there for a couple seconds. You say fan runs on high. Comb. fan? What heat setting do yo have it on? Have you taken the baffle off and cleaned all the fins on heat transfer plate? Remember the drop tube thermocouple sends power to the conv. fan. The more heat it senses, the faster the fan runs. kap

I took the control board off today and cleaned all of it with compressed air. I did note some corrosion on one of the leads, but it came off no problem. The fan only runs high either when it is on Sunflower Seed mode and it is just screaming all the time no matter how hot is it, or when it is on high for a long time and it is warmed up. Otherwise, it doesnt blow hot or fast.

A few new details. My HVAC guy was here today and he looked at Snapdisc on the droptube and noted it was "popped out". We pushed it in, but it feels like it i able to come out very easily. I wonder if it is broken. I let it run for a while on medium and noted the flame was barely out of the burnpot. I then pushed it in again and now it seems to be burning hotter now. He also mentioned with his stove, that he put something in the vent that slowed down the output, resulting in his stove buring much hotter. He said his exhaust temp when from around 600 to around 350. I measured my stove temp today and it only hit 350 on medium. The air in the vent was only 140. The outside of the vent was 220-240. I did notice what looked like a vent in the back. It goes to the vent tray. Is that supposed to be open? There is a plate on the back panel of the ash pan vault but air does go through.

Is my droptube snapdisc bad? I did unscrew it when the stove was on and it sparked, so there is energy to it.

The snap disc is a safety feature. If a fire tries to burn back into feed system or push exhaust up the feed tube, this sensor will shut the entire system off. It has to be manually reset. Unplug stove before resetting. I don't know what you are talking about as far as vent and vent tray. kap

This vent. It is just below to the left of the convection blower. What do you think about air moving through to quickly? Do I need to slow down the exhaust?

That is the fresh air return opening, where the stove draws air for the fire. As far as behind the ashpan, they came out with a plate to close part of it down years back, but that was for when the fire would get going too much and make a freight train sound. Can't remember if I even installed mine. kap

Leave it open or plug it up? Where is there a gasket around the ash pan if they have that thing in there? Any thoughts on he going through the machine to quickly and I need to slow up the exhaust?

Leave it open. Like I said this is where the stove gets air that goes thru pot. There should be a gasket around the opening for the ash drawer. I would not worry about too much air going thru it. If you want to, you can go from high altitude, to normal. That slows down fan. And explain more on how the conv. fan runs on high all the time?
