Door latch issues - 6041

I have a new 6041 pedestal unit that has a door latch issue. The door is hard to close and as a result bends the metal latch. This causes a crack where the bolt goes through the latch and it eventually breaks. My question is, how hard are the doors to close on the 6041? it seems that the gasket may not be aligned properly resulting in a door that doesn't close properly. Also, the metal latch held in place by a bolt seems to me,to be a design flaw for this stove, any aftermarket replacement latches that may work better.
At this point, to use the stove, I wire the door shut. I don't really like this option and would rather use the door latch as intended. Any suggestions?

Take a straight edge and check the stove face and the door. If it's just the door perhaps USSC will replace that part and you don't have to replace the entire stove.

I placed a straight edge on the front of the stove face and its true, no warping. The door is straight also. It appears that the hinges holding the door need to be about 1/4 inch longer to hold the back of the door a little higher off the stove so the door closes flatter. There is a gap at the front of the door near the handle that prevents the latch from engaging the handle correctly. In order to close the door I need to muscle the handle and that bends the little latch bolted to the stove. I'm going to try today to remove the door and put washers under the hinges to lift the rear of the door off the stove face.

Im betting someone put the gasket rope in to tight. I made that mistake the first round and packed the gasket in to tight and could not close the door...

I replaced the gasket, same issue. However while viewing the door close I notice that the bolt that holds the latch to the stove body interferes with the door closing. It was mounted so the door hits the bolt and wont fully close. The solution here is to fill the existing hole and tap another one so the door can close without hitting the bolt.

I contacted the company US Stove. I provided a video of the door latch issue that showed the door opening during operation. US Stove shipped me a new stove and took back the defective unit. The new stove works perfectly. Thank you US Stove.. Excellent customer service!
