I have a Whitfield Advantage II pellet stove insert for about 11 years and had no problems until yesterday. Went to start the unit and both blowers start and stop a short time later. I have cleaned the stove completely and still the blowers will start and then slowly stop. The auger works and a fire will start but i have to unplug because of both blowers will not stay on. I know it's old but both blowers fail at the same time?? Any suggestions? Sensor maybe? Any idea what sensor could be bad and how to check it?

Mine does that from time to time, I have found that if I unplug the stove for ten or fifteen minutes and plug it in again, it will start normally.

When I plug it back in I hear two clicks and can start it. I suspect a sticky relay. It doesn't happen very often and I can always start it, so I haven't looked into it any farther.

Thank you for your feedback, i have had the unit unplugged for a few hours and tried it, still the same. I'm going to pull it out and work on it this weekend and see if their is something i can find wrong via bypassing sensors. I have a spare blower i can try but i suspect it's not the blowers but a sensor or now i'll check the relay. Funny everything seems to work fine but the blowers start but won't stay running. If i fine something i'll let everyone know what it was.

Hi All, I worked on my stove over the weekend and what i found after checking the low limit switch (good) it was the room air blower bearings were going. Replaced the blower and it works great again. Thanks for your tips on this subject.
