on this site I hear people with a P68 harmon or P63 say they heat 2000 sq feet using only one 40 lb bag. I have a P43 and on its lowest setting maybe get 14- 16 hrs. the most. with this chart I see my pellet usage matches their numbers

User reports of consumption just say how well the stove is keeping up the the house's heat loss. Heat loss is going to vary dramatically between different homes, different climates, different time of year and different user comfort levels.

Hoping that the new 2020 standards result in real efficiency numbers for pellets and firewood stoves. The output numbers have always been sketchy but if all stoves are tested the same way then hopefully we can compare.

The real, current, EPA charts show something other than the default 67% efficiency for pellet stoves now.

I've always thought MFRs were being liberal with their output ratings, but didn't think too much about it, as most pellet stove owners burn their stove on or about the middle of max heat anyway. Now I can also see why I have found the Meridian cast iron Enviro to heat as much or more than the M-55 cast FS stove. (one is 45k btus from the mfr, the other 55k). The max feed rates per hour was an interesting fact too.
