Looks like might be other stuff in there. Maybe Black walnut log. Some of it looks like Oak though. But I'm not there you are.

That big ol crotch should provide some fun

Funny how that big old crotch in the grapple really catches the eye! I almost started cussing just think'en about splitting that up!!

I'd cut the arms, cut below the crotch, and roll the rest into the woods.

I can’t read “black walnut” any more without chuckling about how “highly valuable” it is.

Needless to say, you got your money’s worth there, crotch of not!

As a guy that spits all by hand, I cringed when I saw that crotch too. I won't lie, I have done just what wood stover suggested many times.

I would use it all I hate wasting any BTUs
I also find that most crotch like that split very easy
and that's why they make chain saws and splitters

There’s wasting BTUs in the wood, and there’s wasting BTUs in the body. I’m down with saving the body. I can always find a little more wood.

I'm burning a crotch right now, cut it to size with your saw and let it season.

I usually leave crotches in the woods where I cut, but seeing as it’s already in your yard, I’d just noodle that bad boy, and stack it with the rest. No way would it split straight enough to allow maximum packing density in the stove, but crotches can provide some increasingly dense wood, and noodling is no more work than dragging it back to the woods. I think it’s fun, actually.

At 70 still pushing the body and enjoying the the time
What are you saving it for posterity . Get out and use it while you got it !

That's a nice load of wood. It's also nice to see some grass in your pics. Gives me hope that springtime really will be coming to New Hampshire soon.
