My husq 350 was not spinning in the cut, so I tried to swap clutches with a parts saw I have. I had also knocked it off the bench, breaking the gray operator prescence handle. Swapped that also.

The chain spins as you pull to start, making it hard to pull, and engaging the brake makes ot almost impossible to pull. I know I am overlooking something simple...I have taken the clutch off and reassembled everything twice trying to figure it out.
One attempt at starting it actually burbled, so I got that goin' for me. Are both clutches shot maybe?

Is the clutch free from the drum when you have the chain cover off? Not missing any clutch springs is it?

Has to be in the clutch. I'd take it off, blow it off well with air, spray it out with brake clean and a parts brush, and spin it in the drum and see how it acts. Also, check that needle bearing, and replace it, or at least clean it and grease it before installing. Is there any buildup in the clutch drum?
