A lil close for my comfort. I'd be resting that rack on the floor next to the hearth.
Yes, nylon and heat can lead to a quick meltdown. Nice stove install though. The hearth came out very nicely.

The bench and chair near my stove usually have "stuff" in them to dry out. At minimum, there's usually a towel or 2 from drying my dog off. During hunting season I can have wet gear on everything in the stove room. Can't beat it.

That will definitely keep the stink down! I wish I would have had this sort of setup when I used to play. I have that same tea kettle also.

Oh boy, I can't even begin to imagine what the living room smells like.

stonework looks great, I am going to be doing sort of the same thing just different color stone, can you take a pic of the end of the wall, just want to see what you did there. Did you use the pre made corner pieces?

Thanks for all the responses. I did move the gear a little further away. It was getting toasty. Family room did smell kind of funky. My skates were nice and toasty for Sunday’s skate.
Edinct, I attached some corner pics. I did not use the prefab corners. Way too expensive. I used an angle grinder to rough up the edges. Tedious but it looks good.

On year 4 without a dryer, all of our clothes are dried in the winter on a rack in front of the stove. Amazing how quick they dry sometimes

That does look good, thanks for adding the pic. I agree, prefab corners are too expensive
I have a rack to dry my shorts out before they go into the wash. The misses says they are too moist and juicy to go directly into the hamper. I’ll bet our drying rack will give your hockey gear a run for the money in the odoriferous department. Will post some pics next time the rack is loaded up.

I am really happy that hearth.com doesn't utilize Smell-o-Vision or have Scratch-and-sniff screens.
