Picked up a new wood hauler Saturday. Guess we'll see how it does.

It's not a woodhauler until it's christened properly. A taillight knocked out, a split woopsed into the side, or backing into a small (large) sapling with the tailgait down should about take care of it.

Well I did knock the taillight out of the truck backing into the driveway. Notice the spare tire mounted on the front of the trailer.? Yeah dont put one there. With the trailers short tongue and turned a little too sharp, took out the taillight. Not real happy about that one.

For some reason manufactures have turned the tailgate into a luxury item.
A friend that bought a new Dodge Dually backed into something with his new tailgate down.
Unpainted price $6000.00 +
I have never owned a truck that cost me that much. That kind of money for a wear item on a truck is ludicrous.
What are people thinking when they buy a new truck, they are not made to work anymore.

Come on man. You gonna pull your $60,000 ski boat with a $6,000 dollar truck? Be real bro. And what about the clothes contest at the ski resort?

They are the worst investment ever. I'm just dumb enough to buy one.

The tail lights today are completly unprotected. Look at any older pickup, from the 50s 60s 70s. Inset, and small. Now they are expensive to replace and part of the light show.
But then again, I have a newer pickup. And accept the idea that they are less true work trucks, and more of a commuter vehicle that on occasion is taken into the woods to retrieve a load. If I wanted something to specifically haul wood and that's it, it might not look like a recognizable pickup we're all familiar with. I don't, so I'm willing to compromise.

That is our good truck to travel or pull the camper. I have a 99 chevy 1/2ton 4x4 with 253000 miles as my run around go in the woods truck. At least our truck doesnt have the sensors for close vehicles or what ever it's called. It's over $600 for that. I about crapped when I seen that.

I would be knocking on some wood if I just said that.

Get a longer hitch and keep the tire where it is.
I have a b&w adjustable drop hitch and there is 2 holes to put the pin in in the receiver hitch. I always put it in the to get it out the farthest
