MAXWear Wedge slip resistant outsole

I can't help with those particular boots, but I'll be watching this thread because I'm also looking for boots.

Maybe 6 or 7 years ago, I also was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. I haven't had symptoms since then after the doctor recommended pulling the factory insoles in my boots and using good aftermarket insoles that matched my foot. He recommended Sof-Sole inserts.

I have those boots and use them for wood processing all the time. Comfortable right out of the box and great quality. The laces suck (taslon) so I replaced with rawhide. Had them about a year. I love the wedge soles, so much easier on my feet than my loggers. If they ever wear out I would not hesitate to buy again.

The only weakness I’ve found is on ice and snow, those soles will slip on ice and snow, so plan on getting micro spikes or something if you get them. Those soles won’t grab like a lugged sole, but I appreciate that as it does not track much mud

I had similar issue, and running shoe store sales rep recommended pulling factory insoles and replacing with quality insoles - Powerstep.
I have a pair in each pair of shoes that I routinely wear. Notice a BIG difference when I put back in factory insoles.
Very effective, and very durable (they last a long time).

Thanks for all the replies, hopefully I'll have new boots by next week. My plans are to wear them when stacking, cutting when it's dry out and when I'm on the tractor but not during the winter.
 
I ended up going with a Danner boot, I'll have the model of the boot later. The Thorogood boot wasn't wide enough for my feet, even the EE.

The Danner boot does have some 400 grams thinsulate and waterproof, I'll get some pics after I do some work in them.

The boot style pictured below is like the one we purchased.

I had a pair of danner boots during jump school and they held up really well. We ran several miles a day every day in them, jumped in them five times, and by the end of the school they were done for uniform use. I still wore them camping and stuff, but they were too dirty and tore up for wearing on duty. I probably would have kept wearing them in uniform if not for landing in a muddy thorny hole on my last jump at school.

Nice choice. Danner quality is good from the two pairs I have. Bull Runs and Mountain Lights. Hope you like them

I haven't cut with them but have split and stacked in them, I like them.
