I have been lurking around this site going well over a year and have gained a wealth of knowledge from everyone on this site. Well, last February I bought an Alderlea T5 to replace my Resolute III with the goal of burning more and turning the propane furnace off more. Well, so far this year things are going great. This week we had a couple of colder days and I was having trouble getting heat to the rest of the house. I have to work out some more air tightening, but still thought it should do better.

So, I decided to try putting a table fan on the floor in a far room. I went to bed at 11 pm with temp on the thermostat in the far room at 67. I woke up around 2:30 am and the temp was up to 72. I was so excited I couldn't fall back asleep. So again, thanks to everyone to all the advice on this forum.

Steve

I’m burning clean, I’m a believer

I thought burning clean was only true in fairy tales
Meant for some other burner and not for me
My stove was out to get me
That’s the way it seemed
Smoking chimneys haunted all my dreams

Then I bought a new stove, now I’m a believer
Not a trace of smoke in the sky
I’m burning clean, I’m a believer
I couldn’t go back if I tried

I thought smoke was more or less a given thing
Seems the more I tried the more I got
What’s the use in tryin?
All you get is smoke
When I needed heat I got tar

Then I bought a new stove, now I’m a believer
Not a trace of smoke in the sky
I’m burning clean, I’m a believer
I couldn’t go back if I tried

(With no apologies whatsoever to The Monkees)

I couldn't leave her if I tried :)

Welcome to the forums !!

Good to hear simple things like the fan placement can help that much. :cheese:
I am getting my T5 insert installed Monday & do have concerns about getting the heat around the house since its not necassrily an open floor plan. 1800 sq ft cape cod style house.

burning wood is alot of work but so much more satisfying thsan oil, porpane, pellets or anything
burn on man!

Steve, it is amazing what a little fan can do if placed right. Glad it is working for you. You will appreciate it more as colder weather hits.

That's awesome. Vermont Castings had Mickey Dolenz perform at a dinner party they had for dealers one year. Only if you two could have collaborated before that.

Neil Diamond

Yeah I know he wrote it. But the Monkees took it to the top of the charts.

The man made a lot of people famous.

I know. Been a huge fan of his for 45 years.

Funny, when I started this post I was wondering if it would take this turn. I am only 32 but one of the biggest Neil fans around. Seen him in concert twice when I was younger.

Glad the fan worked and glad you are a Diamond fan. That wreckage of his song is something I posted here years ago and your thread title just made me remember it.

I will resist the temptation to post a youtube link of him doing Brother Love.

Now, get some sleep !

What's funny is I read the title of the thread.. then got up and went to my stove to throw on a bit more wood... The entire time I was gone I was singing "I'm a believer"... 5 minutes later I come back and open the post to find I wasn't alone!

7 concerts here....and a boat load of CD's

What the hell. This thread is off the rails anyway. My fault. I spent over a grand of my company's money entertaining customers one week in Pittsburgh because he was working the bar in the hotel. I went to hear this one every night.

Edit: I should add that it is probably because I was raised by a fire breathing Baptist preacher.

Gonna close it. Thanks to the OP for verifying what he learned here. And for the memories too.
