Likes: Nice to look at.

Dislikes: Hard to start. Must keep the damper open to keep fire going. Wood must be very dry to get any heat from stove.

Comments: I heard that Pacific Energy makes one of the best stoves money can buy. I disagree. My stove is extremely hard to start. It smokes out the door when the door is opened and if you don't have truly seasoned hardwood forget about starting your stove or getting any heat from the stove. Maybe the wood that I burn is not the best (maple) but I feel a $1400(cdn) stove should perform much better than this. If I shut the draft off all the way the fire will burn a long time but the heat output is diminished so much that I can't heat my small home. Don't listen to burn times!! Yes the fire will burn 8-10 hours but only 3-5 of those hours will give enough heat to actually heat your home in cold temperatures. I think I'm going to sell this stove in the spring and try a Napolean. This is my experience. I also thought that my chimney was the cause o I spent 1400 dollars on a new stainless insert and still the same problem. Hope others have had better luck!!
