Likes: A joy to use - easy fire maintenance. Clean burning, and the glass stays clean. Very controllable from low to high firing rates.

Dislikes: Always burns stronger on the left side, leaving unburned wood in the right rear. Poorly assembled. Arrived damaged, neither the dealer or Jotul were of any help. Doesn't burn as hot as the old 602.

Comments: This stove replaced an F100, which was a real turkey. The F602 is a wonderful stove to use. Although it doesn't burn as hot as the old 602, which I used for 15 years, the F602 is a better stove overall.

My main gripe is with Jotul and somewhat the dealer. The stove was poorly assembled. The entire back plate was loose, and the internal baffle was installed with a 3/8 inch gap along both sides, above where it is supposed to rest. I cemented the backplate in place before using it. The gaps remain, and may be the cause of the asymmetrical burn problem described above. There may be other problems, but who knows without taking it completely apart? I sent photos to Jotul, they said everything was OK. Huh? No way. I am unhappy that they are so unconcerned about the quality of their product. Yes, of course it burns (so does a 55-gal barrel...) but I don't think it is burning properly. So this issue spoils an otherwise positive impression of the stove.
