Likes: This little stove is a powerhouse. I am very pleased with it. The large glass viewing area is excellent. We put it in our family room more for a space heater rather than a whole house heater. It's perfect for a smaller room. The soapstone allows for a nice even heat. During a day I typically burn 10 logs. I usually feed the stove split logs. The draft on the stove is excellent, despite only having a single air control.

Dislikes: The firebox specs. call for 16" logs max. I haven't had a big problem with the small size, but of course a little bigger would be nicer. It doesn't have an ash pan, which may or may not be any advantage, this is my first stove and I don't mind cleaning the ashes every other day or so.

Comments: I would recommendd this stove to anyone that wants to add heat a smaller room, say a family room, where you spend most of your time. I burn my stove at a medium burn rate and it provides nice even heat. The stove is a bit heavy, 350 lbs., and the top venting feature allows for it to be tucked nicely into an existing fireplace and still allowing good hearth clearance. I would recommend Hearthstone to everybody. This is a quality stove.
