Likes: keeps me warm for. I had a woodburner and this does not put out the same level of heat, but it is easier to use, dependable, cleaner, less fumes, safer, prettier, smaller, no toxic fumes. When the electric goes out the battery back (from a car) will last about 1 hr. low giving me enough time to start the generator.

Dislikes: Sometimes not enough heat for the whole house when it is bitter cold. When electric goes out without the battery, so does the fire. The battery back-up model is noisy-Mine is near the door and I can't hear someone knocking. I have to carry the corn in-I purchased in 40lbs bags. Now I get it directly from the farmer in a bin/wagon. The need to shut it down once a week to clean it-I clean it completely that often, takes about 15-30 minutes, though you don't HAVE to.

Comments: To start it I use a little rubbing alcohol over a cup of pellets, start it with a torch. I burn corn. I will mix with soy beans or small grain for more heat only during coldest weather. I love it and it is my only source of heat. Easy to clean, I've had good service and help from rep. Tom Zulch, quick to install, I am a 54yr old woman and would buy this model again it is easy to use.......Just wish it were quieter....
