Likes: Easy to run. Top loading, though we don't use it much. Ash pan clean out is easy to use. Glass does keep relatively clean. VERY easy and very responsive to regulate primary air. Good looking stove. With decent wood, 8-10 hour burn times are a reality! Secondary burn is fairly easily achieved and puts on quite a show. Folding andirons make front loading very easy. Start up air control a nice feature. Ash from fires is a very fine powder. I would assume this is from avery complete burn.

Dislikes: Top load requires you to "flip" burn tubes out of the way. You can't fuly load stove because they block the rear of the stove. The rear of the stove is "narrower" than the balance of the fire box and requires much shorter pieces to fully fill the fire box. Ash pan while nice to have, and easy touse is a bit small for a stove this size. It should be as wide as the fire box and a bit deeper. We seem to be emptying it every other day or it makes quite a mess. No big deal, just have to be on top of it.

Comments: We changed out our DW 2479 for this stove after having issues with that appliance. When we installed the IR we also installeda butterfly damper. Our set up is 24' of class A down to a clean out "t", through the foundation to a double wall elbow down through stove pipe to the stove. our stove is in an unfinished basement. Hence the way oversize stove. The basement is the absolute worst place for the stove. We lose a lot of heat out of the foundation. Overall I would highly recomend the stove and the dealer. E-mail if you have questions!
