Likes: It heats evenly around the two story house, constant heat, little fluctuation, holds heat a long time, no times when the house gets uncomfortably cold. Very easy to use, uses less wood than previous stoves, ease of filling and ash removal. Just put my ash container up to the door and even when stove is not very warm, it sucks all the ash into stove and it does not float out into room. Boils off 3 gallon of water or more a day, with two pots on top. Any scratch just buffs off. It is beautiful to look at, combuster is easy to clean, controls are easy to use and there is no guessing about where to put the the level for air coming in. Out side air comes in thru a 3/4 nch lumen of pipe and it is plenty to support combustion, so floors stay warm for my cairns. Arranged three flexible elbows to come from back of stove to just sit over pipe, wonderful! Easy to lean chimney out, the handful of soot from cleaning chimney, was esasy to remove at back of stove thru top chamber. It did not need it, but cleaned it just to see how it would do. Found only a small handful of soot, no creosote at all! Combuster very easy to dust off and remove.
Company was totally helpful and patient, with daily calls, for a week, as I went through the earning curve of a new type of stove. Easy to install. Window stays clean for weeks. On a warm day, did not add wood and removed a very small amount of ash, clinging to inside of glass, in two minutes with window cleaner.... no problem. I load 4 times a day on cold days, way less on moderate days. I do massage and the home needs to be warm. Warm air reaches the whole house! I just think this stove is the best. And, the soapstone with the cast iron is just beautifully crafted. One craftsman builds the stove from start to finish. There is pride in craftsmanship, no robot construction. It is made the old fashion way, with care... in the USA!

Dislikes: No real cons.... just a different kind of heat and system than I was used to. It is important to make sure home surfaces stay warm. So, to keep constant comfortable heat, I keep the stove humming along. It is radiant and does not do catch up well, because it is designed to keep things at a steady level of comfort. So, even with the stove running at normal heat, it is not uncomfortable to sit in the dining room, where it resides without being too hot. It is my dream come true and so lovely to look at, too.

Comments: Need a stove ... you will never find a more helpful company, a prettier stove, two layers of soap stone, thick! You will not regret this choice. Not one careless feature. After using a faulty Pacific Energy Alderlea, this is like a gift from the heaven! Lorin at Woodstock Soapstone is the best for offering assistance in using this stove. She is wonderful!
