Likes: Beautiful. Flawless enamel. Tight, precise fitting castings. Overall extremely well made piece of Art. Put out decent heat when in efficient burn mode (damper closed). Efficient burn (Everburn) worked well when instructions are followed (must have good coal bed) and there would be no smoke from chimney.

Dislikes: Inner Back of stove glowed red in efficient burn mode. When the back glowed, stove top temps were usually between 450-550F which are reasonable if not on the cool side. VC also has no contact info....all inquries must go through dealer. Of course my dealer refused to acknowledge the problem.

Comments: It seems that vermont castings knows/knew about the glowing problem, yet still has in their manual that a glowing stove is an overfire and warranties are void if stove is overfired. My chimney is a typical set up for NY State- 15\' class A 6\". Very dishonest company. Very poorly designed stove. My recommendation: Nightmare!! DO NOT PURCHASE.
