Likes: This is a big stove. The side load door really helps to get a full load into the fire box. Having a window on the front of the stove helps when you want to check the fire status at a glance and not have to open the door to check. Can load the stove up before bed and still have a fire when I get up in the morning.

Dislikes: Back puffing!! I have had this stove since 1995 and know as much as anyone about how to get it to burn well. This stove has been installed on two different chimneys. It\'s not a draft issue. Trust me. The stove and chimney has to be really warmed up to work well. I mean like a day or two. You need a good bed of coals under your fire to keep it from puffing. What happens is that when you close the damper and run it thru the cumbuster the fire gets lazy and sometimes goes out. Then the smoke reignites and causes an increase in pressure pushing smoke out the air intakes. Forget about getting any help from Vermont Castings. Parts or advise.

Comments: I don\'t know if a fresh air kit would help but I would not recommend this stove. For the money you can get a better stove without the puffing issue. I have been heating with wood for 20 years and am not a novice. Its sucks waking up at 2 in the morning smelling smoke and having to get up and deal with the stove. This stove is getting to the end of the line and I am looking at a Blaze King. If it were not for the puffing I would Use a little of Obama\'s stimulus money on another one like it. The puffing is a deal breaker though.
