Excellent heat output, burns very clean, long burns, ability to hook up to central heat system a big plus for me, beautiful looks, amazed at how little wood heats my home, seems almost impossible to \"overfire\".
3 months burning so far and I can honestly say I haven\'t found anything so far I dislike about this fireplace.
I haven\'t burned wood in 20 plus years, I am amazed at how much heat this unit throws, how little wood it uses, and with only using it 3 months I am easily getting 7-8 hour burns as a novice, that should only get better as I stock up & get a couple years ahead on dryer wood. The central air is a huge plus for me. Gets the house as hot as we want down to 15 degree\'s, still keeps up well enough down to 6 below so far! It\'s nearly Christmas and I haven\'t turned on my furnace once yet. When it gets below zero, it doesn\'t overwarm the house, but easily keeps the home around 70 degree\'s. With my LP furnace at 6 below zero, I literally could not get the house that warm. I had excellent luck with this, several good folks on Hearth.com answered all my foolish questions over the past year, Steve at RSF was a huge help when I needed specific questions answered, my dealer Patterson Heating & Cooling in Dubuque Iowa did a fantastic job of the installation, they were very patient with me and answered all my questions as well, they were always on time and did a very neat job of it all. As promised they took care of all permits needed and made sure the fireplace was installed to code. When going through the process over the past year on choosing a new sealed fireplace, I wasn\'t 100% sure what I was getting into, you tend to hear alot more of the \"bad\" about things than the good, but I don\'t regret this now that we\'re all done with the install and now using the fireplace. The RSF Opel 2, with the central heat option, special ICC 7\" chimney, with dealer install, internal blower and all the bells and whistles isn\'t the cheapest unit to install, but if I had it to do over again, I\'d do everything the same. I\'d highly recommend the RSF Opel 2.
