Likes: Long lasting; radiant heat; MADE IN THE USA; safety of leaving a fire overnight and when you leave home (true w/ all wood stoves, though); gorgeous view of fire; gorgeous stove; BEST customer service we have *ever* received.

Dislikes: Absolutely none (other than being ruined for life regarding customer service. No other company has such knowledgeable, friendly folks!)

Comments: We built an ICF (insulated concrete forms) home and oriented it to maximize the winter sun (low in the sky). We also got the best windows and doors we could afford. We positioned our Woodstock soapstone wood stove in the center of the house near the staircase that we left as open as possible (using railing instead of drywall.)

We installed a wood stove because we live out in the country and wanted a back up heat source. This model is reported, by the Woodstock Company, to heat an area of 900-1,600 sq. ft. Instead of its being a back up source, it is our only source, and heats our 2,800 sq.ft. home well. (The children sometimes have to crack open a window because they\'re so warm upstairs!)

Ron, Mike and Michael at Woodstock are VERY knowledgeable and friendly. Oh, that this company could train everyone in customer service! I learned the company\'s phone number by heart, not because we had problems, but because we needed a lot of hand-holding before making such a big purchase. The Woodstock website has a ton of information on wood stoves and wood burning in its library as well.

We love the catalytic combustor too. Burning wood really is \"green\".

Our Woodstock soapstone wood stove is the best purchase we ever made and other than our ICF construction, the best feature of our house!
