Likes: I installed a Drolet Escape 1800i Insert into the existing masonary fireplace in my home. My home is a two story 1200 sqft built in 1983. This insert easily heats my home. The living room on the first floor where the insert is stays in the upper 70s and the 2nd floor at about 72, even when the temperature outside is in the teens at night. I heated my house full time last season and went through 3 chords of seasoned hardwood. I installed it with a 6\" SS flex liner that was insulated and also installed a block-off plate.

Dislikes: You know for what I paid for this unit (~ $800 at Menards) and how well this unit heated my home, and that I did not have to turn on my furnace from Oct through March.... I can not complain about this stove. I do wish that I could get a bit longer burn times but this stove is only 1.8 cu.ft. so I cant expect it to burn for 10 hours. I currently can get upto 6 hours on a burn time and still have enough coals left in the morning to re-start the fire.
