Cast Iron holds heat and is very durable. Parts readily available. Looks good. Easy to clean out with ash pan.
Control with fuel added, as stove sucks it\'s own air when choked off. Only logs up to 14\" can be used. Drafts well (more flue setup then stove).
Have this stove in my garage with 6\" flue. Garage is masonry 1.5 car and stove can easily make garage and adjoining utility room 80 deg +. New they cost $300 and good value to heat unimproved area (shed, barn, garage). Burned coal in it 1 winter, got scary hot. Love the smell of burning hardwood in the neighborhood. I moved all flammable liquids to my shed often overlooked detail but very important. Good luck with homeowners insurance.
