Dislikes: Not airtight - smoke leaks out of the griddle if the stovetop temperature gets below 500 degrees. Its very difficult to keep it steadily above 500 degrees, even with the thermostat wide open.

The gasket on the griddle fell off three weeks after I bought it. I called the dealer who had installed it and they told me they would service it for free, but that they would have to charge me for travel time - an hour each way at $65 an hour - to repair something that had broken after only three weeks. The warranty didn't cover travel time, so they were legally permitted to do that, but I thought it was very poor business practice to not fix an item for free that broke after only three weeks. I had another dealer repair it.

Comments: I owned the exact same model for 25 years, and the new unit was installed on the same footprint. Vermont Castings quality has gone downhill.

By the way, we have had our chimney cleaned and inspected each yera, so it is not the chimney that is causing the smoke release - there is something wrong with the stove.
