Comments: We bought this stove after a re-design and improvements were made on the first models .In our climate, It heats our two story, 2000 sq. ft. house very adequately. If the temps drop down in to the teens with the wind howling for a few days, the house still stays in the 70s. The only issue we ever had was with the first chimney cleaning. The stove has a fireboard above the burn area and the chimney sweepings fall down on top of the board and it is very difficult to remove all of the debris without removing the board and the heavy plelnum that it sits on. There is no way to get a vacuum nozzle to reach the the top of the board. I modified the metal piece that blocks access (made it removable) and now it is easy to clean. This is something I feel needs to be re-designed. Since this unit is installed in a small room, the fan is probably louder than if it was installed in a great room or one with a high ceiling. As an aside, with access to free wood, we figure the payback in four years.
