Fireplace insert worked well for a few years, heated a very large room during the cold winter months in Maine.
Questionable quality and horrible customer service. We put in a warranty claim in May through our dealer since you cannot contact the company directly. In 5 years we have replaced several air tubes as well as the fan/blower unit and this past winter the firebox steel seal corroded.
We put in a warranty claim and have been basically stalled out by the company for 3 months with no answer and since we were unable to contact Regency directly we were at the mercy of the dealer to handle it for us. We provided information such as what type of fuel we use, how we loaded it
and how hot we would burn it at. Needless to say we received an answer from Regency this week and it was that they would not be honoring the warranty on the firebox. They declined our claim saying that we have been overfiring the stove and also because of the fuel we use. Well we have used biobricks and canawick bricks
as our fuel and have always used a thermometer and never run it over 450 degrees. Regency did not even deliver the decision themselves, they hide behind the dealers and leave no way to contact them diectly. Nedless to say we are not happy with their customer service, which is really nonexisent and their failure to stand behind
their product which appears to be poorly manufactured.
Please do not buy a Regency product, they claim years of worry free use of their stoves but you are basically screwed if something goes wrong.
They will stall and direct any problems back on the customer or the dealer and good luck actually speaking to anyone from Regency directly.
So after 5 years of use I basically have a useless wood stove and nothing but frustration. Please don't buy a Regency product
