Likes: The unit is thermostat controlled and does a good job heating when and if it works.

Dislikes: Unit shuts down often. The cleaning rod does not work. Problem with feed rate and door seal. Then control panel started acting up and needed to be reset periodically. The photo-eye does not work properly. The auger motor had to be replaced twice in two years. The igniter had to be replaced trhee times

Comments: The unit worked great for the first few month. Then one morning (luckily somebody was home) the stove stayed in the start up cycle and kept feeding pellets constantly into the burn pot. The unit wouldn't start feeding even after I turned the unit off. Finally after I disconnected the power cord the stove stopped feeding. The repairman told us that the wires needed to be protected and he put plastic covering over the wires. That was the end of a good stove.
The repairman from our dealer stopped by numerous times and tried to fix the stove. They tried to contact Whitfield and left several messages on the answering machine but nobody returned the call. Needless to say our dealer doesn't deal with Whitfield anymore.

We contacted Whitfield several times without luck. Then we found out that Lennox is affiliated with Whitfield but that wasn't much better The igniter stopped working for the third time I called Lennox and they told me that they have to find another Dealer. No reply 9 Days later. A call to the complaint department got me a new dealer within hours. The Dealer called me after about a day and told me he will order a new photo eye cell that was in Dec of 02 we are still waiting (May 03).
