This fireplace looks amazing. It throws an unbelievable amount of heat. The firebox is huge and takes 24 inch+ logs. The posi-pressure system works as advertised. The blower is very quiet even when on high.
The glass gets dirty quickly, I clean it about once a week, no big deal. No matter how hard I try, small amounts of smoke enter the room when I am reloading it. It costs a lot. I bought this unit in 2003/2004 and I paid about $2925 for the unit, $535 for the doors, and $211 for the face plate. I also paid $775 for the installation, so you can expect to dish out some $$ for this unit.
I am in love with this fireplace heater. It looks amazing and I have gotten many compliments on its looks. As I stated above, the posi-pressure system works very well. I have a 2 story colonial which is about 2500 square feet (1500 on the first floor and 1000 on the second). When the room with the fireplace is 73, the rest of the first floor is 72 and the upstairs is 70.
The heat that this unit throws is almost too much, I am still learning how to maintain an even heat. I can easily get this room to 78+ degrees when it’s below 10 degrees outside. I can’t say enough good things about this fireplace, it is simply the best looking and working (all things considered) on the market today.
