Likes: Looks good.

Dislikes: This unit burns more wood than our previous one. It builds creosote on the chimney causing smoke to back up into the house. Told by the service guys to burn the wood hotter. Keep the dampers open.

Comments: This unit has been nothing but a headache since we bought it. The creosote builds up on the chimney causing the smoke to back up into the house. We have had the entire chimney replaced after a fire in the top end of the chimney. The service guys told us it was because we were burning green wood. We are burning the same wood we have burned for 15 years with the old stove. We had to get rid of the old stove because the damper was bent and they said it would cost more to fix it than it would to replace the stove and besides the new ones are more efficient. Well let me tell you this thing is not efficient. We burn more wood per month than with the old one. The chimney was replaced 9 weeks ago and now we have had to shut it down because yesterday our house filled up with smoke and creosote is dripping from the chimney pipe. Why is the creosote building up on the pipe so badly? I think it has something to do with the so called "new" technology. We are now considering changing to gas. This stove has made us decide its not worth having wood heat.
