Comments: Bought this stove used - it was built in 2002 so it is fairly new. I use this stove in my finished basement. Running at about 80% it is able to heat my 1100 sq.ft. basement to about 68-72 degrees and throw some heat upstairs (through the floors and up the stairwell) Just what I wanted it to do. Because the stove is in the basement and vented through the wall into an outside masonry chimney (w/ metal 6" metal flex liner) I had a bit of a downdraft problem. I was able to solve the problem by using the outside air option. I ran 4" metal air duct from outside into a 4" knockout that is on the back of the unit. These parts can be purchased at any hardware store for a few bucks. I did have to buy the official kit to get the part that covers over the front air control ($40).
