Comments:
We heat 100% with wood and occasional coal lumps in perhaps one of the coldest parts of the US. Regularly below zero and -30\'s to occ -40\'s and have seen -60\'s. We heat a log cabin and inherited this stove from a renter who installed it. It is superb and we also burn trash becasue opur county has no landfill. We cook on a wood antique copper clad cookstove. We burn cottonwood and aspen and sometimes pine and fir we cut ourselves mostly on our land and we envy anyone who can burn hardwood. If it will be below -20 or -30 we often add a chunk of coal to make a fast morning start. We do not damp it down at night .
