Likes: unbelievable efficiency, huge firebox, side or front loading, very attractive stove, great price, simple but effective controls

Dislikes: doesn't come with a stove thermometer (the manual tells you to go buy one to stick on the door); while advertised as having a "raised griddle for stovetop cooking", the griddle has the catalyst thermometer smack in the middle of it, preventing anything from being cooked- it's crazy; glass was very dirty after just one burn- it's almost useless

Comments: After a month of homework, I went to the store to buy a Quadrafire that was on sale. I came home with a Dutchwest. The Dutchwest has a 50% larger firebox, is 12% more efficient with 1/2 the emissions, was far more attractive, and was cheaper. As I cut my own wood, I much prefer being able to cut to 22" length rather than the 17" the Quadrafire could take. After burning an air-tight for years, the 9 hour burn time of this stove is a dream. One wheelbarrow full of wood lasts two days!
