Likes: Big! Can get logs as long as 24" in it.
Attractive! The brushed nickel surround give it a classy look, with big window and captivating flames. Kids and wife love curling up by the stove, don't need a cat.
Warm! Puts out a ton of heat when cranking, can get too warm.
Reliable! No probs so far, even with heavy 3+ cord use per season.

Dislikes: As others have mentioned, noisy fan.
Fire doesn't really last all night despite EBT claims, down to coals in the morning. But easy to get going with dry wood cut small.

Comments: Keep the chimney liner clean or you get lots of smoke. That's probably not unique to the PE Summit, but it's size makes it particularly smoky. Tray holds a ton of ash, it's easy to get a deep coal/ash bed. Best to shut it down to clear it out, but it's so big that takes as much as a day. I sometimes just scoop out ash and burning coals into a metal ash can. Watch the hands on the can, it's hot!
