Likes: Beautiful stove, Super efficient (in Cat Mode), Easy to work on, Top load makes loading very easy but then loading from the front always seemed easy for me too, Dealers and spare parts are easily obtainable, VERY long burn times (for a wood stove).

Dislikes: Lots of little parts, Stove can back-puff and smoke you out if you don't know what you are doing, Can run very hot if you do not know what you are doing, Air wash is horrible.

Comments: I am a long time coal stove and wood stove burner. I purchased the 1945 used and did a complete rebuild and use it encase the power goes out and for ambiance so I am not running the stove 24/7. The stove can be kind of picky but most of the new super high efficiency stoves are this way. There are a lot of little parts but this is also a plus as if something needs to be replaced you don't have to replace the whole thing when all you needed was a nut or bolt. When run correctly the stove will burn for a good 10 to 14 hours. I have had hot coals even after lighting it 24 hours before hand. Over all it is a great stove, however they have made some huge improvements on these and if buying new get one of the newer models like the new 1975 (Not to be confused with the old 1975).
