Seems high quality, door handle has definite end points for open/close, opens from left to right, ash pan, easy to use and adjust, accepts reasonable sized logs
the slide to adjust the air does get very hot because of the location and it's cast iron as well, so you must use gloves to do fine adjustments, small surface area on top when top vented, price seems too high by about $400. Burn times too short for easy 24/7 burning, but pretty close.
Overall very happy with the unit. Only the install was sub-optimal in my opinion. It has the same issue that all non-cats do with a high temperature variance during the burn cycle, but overall very solid. I have it fully inside a free standing masonry chimney which acts as a heat sink and it does seem to reduce the temperature swings in the room if I'm trying to heat over a few days. It has withstood some brief accidental excursions into the 800+degree range without apparent mishap. It's small but does the job as a back up heat source and part time burner.
