Once the stove is broken in........it heats the house more efficiently than my other wood insert.
It also lasts longer between refilling the stove with wood.
Absolutely no support from Napoleon.
Your wood needs to be super, super dry.
As in at least 3 years under complete cover to burn efficiently.
And you will need the following items for start up (the first year) and many of them years down the road.
A pair of heavy dury leather gloves....there is no way to add wood to the insert without them.
If you try to chuck in the wood embers fall out everywhere.
The wood box is very narrow in the back causing embers to gather and hinder adding additional wood.
You will also need some firestarter sticks if your wood is not 3 years dryed.
You will need Meeco's fireplace glass cleaner. This fireplace builds up so much char on the glass it is the only thing that will remove it.
And until the first year of use is up...you will need lots of patience. It will turn out great heat eventually.......but it takes a lot of breaking in.
I like the stove.....I do not care for the short narrow firebox or all the hassle I had to go through to get a new door off of Napoleon, when the original started to shed flakes of blackening.
They blamed it on owner failure. Well I have now had my new one for quite awhile and it is just fine. DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO CONTACT NAPOLEON WITH ANY PROBLEMS,
THEY ARE HANGING OUT IN CANADA AND ONLY CARE ABOUT SALE AND NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
