It has a very big burn box accommodating 18 inch logs.
The stove is more fussy than my three-year-old son. I have had a lot of experiences with various manufacturers. This is by far the most finicky stove I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. This stove likes to burn wide open or not at all. I don't care what the wood moisture is the stove just does not like to burn with the damper closed. Trying to get an all night burn is a joke. I feel the clean air restrictions on the stove has rendered it a piece of crap, this stove likes to burn wide open or not at all. I feel the clean air restrictions on the stove has rendered it a piece of crap. I would trade out the stove for an old-school woodstove with no afterburners. I wish I would have never purchased this for my home. I have an older stove in my pole barn I am thinking about swapping out and moving into the house. Also, the roll pins expand and contract and fall out of the Air tubes. Another giant hassle. If I was to buy a new woodstove, I would look for something that does not have re burners . I think woodstove and technology don't mix. Keep it old school and original and you will have no problems. I'm telling you do not buy the stove or you will be fidgeting with it every time you want to use it. I can say I honestly hate this stove.
Please don't add your two cents about air giraffes and having it hooked up all right. It was professionally installed and I had a company come out a second time to inspect the stove. I might just remove the burner tubes from the top and pull out the fire brick from the top and let it burn like an old-school stove.
