Likes: This is my second purchase of Regency. Well made, efficient, low maintenance, nice look. I burn 12 cords a year, starting as early as september well into may. If temperature is higher than 25 F, I will be able to heat the whole house with this unit. I have a heat pump and an oil furnace for temperature under 5 F . A tank of oil last me 3 years and my electric bill is under$1000. When I bought this house, installing an insert unit is the first thing I did. Love wood heating.

Dislikes: Not a lot of cons other than emptying the ashes. This runs 24 /7 in the coldest months.

Comments: A cord of wood comes out to $40 for me. I have an arrangement with guy that runs a tree cutting service and since I live in a very dense wooded area, he is very busy after wind and ice storms , which happens often. Homeowners that don't want to keep the wood after a cutting job, he will bring any good harwood cut in 18" logs. I built a shed , bought a splitter and during april and may, I prepare my next season. A lot of work splitting and stacking 12 to 15 cords but I enjoy it and keep me in shape. A regular cord of wood 8'x4'x18" is $110 now.
