Automatic fan runs by thermostat
The Glass gets dirty.
I expected more heat
Power cord for fan comes out the front of the unit
I got the insert in September 2019. I am still experimenting with how to best operate it. I thought it would generate more heat than it does. It heats a 300 sqft room and adjoining 200 sqft that also get heat from the central air unit. These rooms were additions so the central air heat in them is weak and the fireplace does warm them up well. I thought given the 58 kBTU/hr out put and 14 hour burn time it would be monstrously warm and I would have to run it at the low setting. I usually run it on high and its good. It burns strong for about 3 hours without adding more wood, then its mostly coals. The glass gets dirty. I am experimenting with different settings and wood to see if it improves. All in all, in the first two months of use, I like it, It looks great and I am having fun tinkering with it as a hobby. I may add to this review after I have had it for a full year.
