Likes: Incredible efficiency, we burned one less run of wood compared to our old (1984) Hearthstone II. Superb quality of materials and manufacture. Soapstone retains heat longer - we have an outside masonry (with metal liner) chimney and having the stove warm in the morning makes restart easy. Air wash keeps window clean, clean, clean so we can view the fire. Absolutely beautiful stove. Customer service is outstanding. You can call and talk to a rep who is technically savvy and great to work with. The dealers in Vermont are as well. 100% satisfied. Love this stove, I've burned wood all my (long) adult life, several Vermont Castings stoves, Ashleys, Hearthstone is THE best!

Dislikes: Catalytic requires vacuuming a few times a season but this involved removing one cotter pin and a piece of smoke shelf (easy as pie) - 10 minute operation if you take your time. And this lets you ensure status of catalytic.
