Likes: Incredible quality of workmanship and materials. Extremely efficient and clean catalytic burning. Very beautiful design. Easy loading from side. Large viewing area. Long burn times. No smoke escaping into house. Very nice folks at Woodstock who use and know the product very well. A total quality product from a quality company.

Dislikes: I honestly can think of none, other than the price tag may have a bigger number than the department store stoves. A freind of mine has a saying, "Quality IS Economy", and that is so true.

Comments: I researched many many stove and wood furnace choices in looking to heat our entire 90+ year old Michigan farmhouse. Based on heating capacity, efficiency, and asthetics, I chose the Fireview, and have been really pleased with her. I burn mostly apple wood and some beech. I awake to a bed of coals, put a load in, open the damper up until she's good and hot, over 500 degrees, and then damper completely down until I get home from work 9 or ten hours later, and the house is still plenty warm. I refill, open the damper again, and repeat the process. One more small load before bedtime, damper down again, and she stays toasty all night. Engaging the catalyst when the surface temp is above 250 degrees keeps a really clean, hot, and efficient burn. I use a tiny fraction of wood compared to my friends with outside or add-on furnaces, and we have the beauty and warmth of the woodstove, glowing embers and flickering flames, adding to the interior our home. What could be better than that on a cold February evening with a mug of cocoa and a good book? Bring on winter!
