Selkerk or Dura-vent, forget which one, has the OAK built-in to the vent pipe.
Search 'Englander burn pot modifications.' The mods will help improve the burn but not eliminate the issue. Just the way these stoves burn.
Is the impingement plate correctly set?
The second picture seems to have a 'tail' trailing off of the pipe. Looks like some sort of plastic.
