VC Resolute Acclaim Mfg. date code 1521

I couldn't remember exactly when I bought it new all those years ago. That's why I was looking up the year it was made. I have used it every winter for 28 years, not as a total heat source but plenty of 3 straight day burns. It is in good shape so I don't plan on doing a rebuild.

VC Resolute Acclaim Mfg. date code 1521

That is in my owners manual, you would think they would have strengthened the stove instead of printing this in their manuals lol.

yes, I printed it from VC website. I guess I'm lucky then because I have used it every winter since 1991. Not 24/7 but lots and lots of fires with no issues!

VC Resolute Acclaim Mfg. date code 1521

It would have been 1991 not 2001. This stove has a shaker grate so you could burn coal also. I believe it is model number 0041

    Rebuilding VC Resolute Acclaim

I have a 30 year old VC Resolute Acclaim this stove has no fire bricks just cast iron. Are all these problems unique to the newer models? I admit I'm not a 24/7 user just weekends and evenings but my stove has been used 30 years straight with no issues. Am I just lucky or were the older VC...

    Creosote prevention question

Thank you, that was my suspicion but wanted confirmation. If any creosote was present would that hot fire, in the beginning, help clean the stove pipe?

    Creosote prevention question

I recently started using the top-down method for starting my fires. So far I am loving the results. It gets my stove hot very quick especially the stove pipe. My question is, will this method help keep creosote buildup down in my stove pipe? My wood is very dry and produces no smoke out the...

I think all the bad press about the failing catalytic flex burn stoves will do more harm.

VC Resolute Acclaim decrepit combustion package

This is my 30 year old resolute acclaim that I bought new in 1988. It has been a great stove and still works perfectly. No stove will hold up to being over fired which I suspect yours was.

    1980 VC resolute question

I have a 1988 Resolute Acclaim that I am still using, great stove! I lost my manual and printed off a new one from VC website under owner manuals. I have only replaced the rope gaskets so I would be curious how the cleaning of the secondary burn chamber goes.
