Soy oil is just used by some companies to bind the fibers together to make the pellet. Vegatable oil is also used. I just saw one ton of AWF hardwood and Lignetics have vegatable oil on the label chart. You'll be fine, may get a tad more heat.
Not sure. Its a champion generator that was purchased from a store. Gets wheeled from the shed, started, and then I plug the stove to it. Only gets used if power may be out for a long time. On battery, how long does that setup last you?
Have a P68, built in Jan 2011, serial # 008286918. I'm looking for some type of battery backup where I'm able to turn off the stove in the case of a power outage to prevent smoke back. Manual says the following can be used:
APC BE750G - Discontinued, found APC BN900M 900VA
Looks like they changed their bag labels. Ran a few bags couple years ago from lowes in a harman p68. Good heat and fluffy ash that never covered the burn pot holes. They are appalachian wood and would not hesitate to buy them again.
On some 10w30s the cold cranking is better than the 0w20. Also 0w30 may work as well. I would hate for 0w20 to act like a 0w16 when hot. There is always some type of variable when deciding. My 2000 escort runs 5w30 qsud with no issue, 146k on mileage
It's time for me to change the oil. The first 2 free oil changes were completed by the dealer. I have 2 jugs of 10w30 Pennzoil Platinum that I picked up fro AAP last year at a heck of a closeout deal for 2 bucks each. Truck calls for 0w20. Should I use the 10w30 or go with...
Manual - Distribution fan will turn off once the set temperature is reached. Stove will then go into a maintenance burn which you could have been feeling the radiant heat. Fan will kick back on if the set temperature is low. Stove will not shut off until it is set to off or runs out of...
Congrats on the new stove. What settings are you currently on? Every situation is different so you'll receive many opinions. For me, I like feed rate set at 3, room fan on L, and temp is adjusted accordingly. I like room fan on L because it will ramp up when needed. In my opinion, if the...
More than likely, you will still receive the same 120v motor as another replacement. Searching by 4515ui-050 points back to the newer 120v you received. If you want the 115v, looks like you will need to contact merkle. This is what I have gathered from searching on the original model number.
You'll need to play with the settings to see which ones give you the most comfort. For constant burn, fan speed should be medium/low. If you try Room Mode Auto, the distribution fan will rev up/down depending on the call for heat. Depending on the placement of the room temp probe, the stove...
Here are some pricing that I have found. Anyone know of others
Southern States, Charlotte Hall = 290 for Statesman
Hatcher Supply, Huntingtown = 275 Statesman. They do not have Power Pellets due to O'Malley plant fire.
I've been running AWF Hardwoods, almost 2 tons so far since burning season began for me in late October. Opened the hopper last night to refill and notice a big dirt clump type rag with string around it. Wow, glad I caught this before it got wrapped around the auger. I'm lead to believe that...
To the OP, sounds like a wet bag of pellets was thrown in which caused the issue. This wluld be why the bag was dusty and pellet were odd (swelled) shape. I recently caught myself dumping in a bad bag. Had to shovel them out.
