Heatmax II hot air start-off adapter connection help

So the manual states to connect 6” duct to the 6-10 start-off adapters, connected to the plenum. Sounds straight forward right? However the OD of the start-off adapters measure ~5.5” and nowhere close to 6” diameter. If you try to attach a 6” elbow or straight duct, the connection is a loose...

I apologize if you already posted, what did you get for a measurement? Can you post a photo of where you are taking the measurement? Are you measuring the internal flue temperature?

    Drolet heat pack set up

Can anyone tell me why the starter start-off adapters have so much play when you connect to a “6 round duct? Are the start-off ducts really 5 ½”? There is at least ¼” of play!

    Everything Drolet Tundra - Heatmax...

Having added the ICM mod before, I not sure it is worth installing an ICM with the newer units as the blower cut off temp seems to be between 105 and 110....

All EPA approved Wood furnace owners; I need your creosote Advice!

To add what brenndatomu said... From what I have experienced first hand, “wet wood” can have a “dirty” smoke appearance where that “steam” smoke will have a very clean white appearance.

    uninsulated liner

OP... I understand that you paid for an insulated SS liner install and just ended up with the liner. But without the liner insulated, how does your stove draft? Does the liner need to be insulated?

I am confused with the last photo. Did they pour concrete around the SS liner or is that vermiculite based insulation?

Another help me choose add on furnace

What is the temperature of your basement around the distribution blower intake? Just wondering if you are drawing in cooler air. As the cooler air can impact plenum and flue temps. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
