Need help circulating air with an enviro boston 1700

Mix in some pallet wood. Burns great and its free all over the place. Only takes 5 minutes or so to cut it up.

    Enviro Wood Stoves

Sure sounds like wet wood. I load to the secondary bars. The ash should be very fine and white. You need to raise the fire box temps and slowly turn the air down. I remove ash every 2-3 weeks when it gets up to the door sill.

    Can Lights

Thanks for the information guys. I (the wife) are almost ready to completely agree on a cabinet/island set up. I am starting to shop around for some lights. There are so many options that seem almost identical but prices vary.

    Can Lights

Bingo. That's exactly what I was looking at. I think I want 6in but not positive. Do you like the 4 inch? How far did you space them? They have 3,4, and 5k temp. I have the 5k in my sconce lights by the mantle and 3k in my dining area.

    Can Lights

So after doing some research I came across low profile LED lights. They seem completely sealed and have a gasket to seal the air gap. I would be able to leave the insulation above as is since they are 1 inch thick. I have 4 old can lights in my dining area. I may buy some and replace those to...

    Transplanting a tree

I do some plantings in the summer for work so I am aware of the berming technique. There is no access for any type of machine to get back there unless I cut one of my fence posts and take a section out. My father in law has a landscape company I'll ask him if he has anything laying around. This...

    Can Lights

Fbelec. I plan on using 5 or 6 inch cans. Should I install them 18 inches off the upper cabinets which would be 30 off the actual wall if the uppers are 12 inches? That seems logical for lighting when cooking over over any counter. I am going to post a picture of the layout we pick shortly...

    Transplanting a tree

Thanks. I started looking into it. Easter Red cedar looks like a good fit or the hybrid willow tree.

DIY Hearth Pad for Wood Stove

This it tonight. Flipped up up to see the under side. I ripped 2x4 down for the frame then used ripped 1x4 to the height of the time after the tile fully set. Been getting used every day since mid fall. It's pretty heavy. Hasn't moved at all other than me lifting it up tonight.

    Can Lights

I live in a ranch so easy access below and above. I am not using track lights. There will be a small hanging light over the sink. I am upgrading all the outlets to 12/2 and putting a sub panel in for the fridge and all the new wiring to go along with the redo.

    Transplanting a tree

Recently took down some dead trees at the edge of my property. I would like to take a pine from one area of the woods and put it where I took down the others. For privacy purpose. There is a condo area through the woods and easily seen in the winter months. The oaks and maples cover most in the...

    Can Lights

Waiting on 2 more quotes and designs. I will post as soon as the wife decides what she likes best. The kitchen is 11x 20. It will have an Island with a drop down light over that.

DIY Hearth Pad for Wood Stove

This is mine. I made a frame out of wood and used cement board and tile . What you can't see is I have two support pieces of wood under the middle of the cement board. It slides under my existing hearth over hang. I had all the material hanging around my basement. I step on it and put wood on it...

    Can Lights

In the process of deciding our cabinet lay out for redoing the kitchen. Ceilings are only 90" so can lighting is going to be installed. I have done a little reading and looking at pictures. What is the best way to lay them out? I see some lights over the major appliances but need to make up for...

    Went with the red oak

If you have the room to keep it stacked go back every day and pile it all up. Cut and split it later. Nice truck!

    Stacking 6 cord in a space 35' x 5' - opinions/advice wanted

I do this all the time building landscape walls and stairs. It's needed to prevent blow outs and the ground freezing in the winter. I'm guessing it will make the stacks sturdier.

    Enviro Boston shroud question

I've been trying to clean mine every 2 weeks give or take. I've gone longer but obviously less wood fits. I burn 24/7 for the most part. Only my second season so I'm no pro. There is an enviro insert thread somewhere on here if you search.

    How hot is to hot?

Did a cleaning today to be on the same side. This is about a month of 24/7 burning. The bigger flakes came from the baffles. Assuming they fell from the chimney cap where there were also some similar size flakes. It's the 2nd year burning. The cap had some discoloration last year but has a bit...

Thought so. I think the rot kept clogging my saw. I had to blow out a lot of fine powder a couple times it wasn't cutting good.

What Is In Your Stove Right Now?

Loaded up this morning before I left with a big round of oak surrounded by some ash. 19 degrees with a windchill of 3. High of 27 today.

New to the forum and inserts.

Only use the dry wood and pack the firebox when you have some solid coals. Don't touch the air till the temp hits 300. Lately my temps have been easily getting over 400. I end up closing the damper all the way and get secondaries for a while.

    What would cause this?

Bingo. Can't believe I forgot about using that instead. Thanks!
