i have a 025 with 325 pitch....thought about switching it out to 3/8 mainly for ease of sharpening with my bench grinder..i have other saws with 3/8 pitch...not going any bigger than 16 inch bar ...think this would be a smart thing to do?...also all i need to do is bar and sprocket...correct?

If you're talking about full-size 3/8" chain, you should be able to actually run the same size wheel for .325 and 3/8" chain. If I were swapping an 025's cutting gear, I'd be looking at 3/8" PICCO for which you will need a different wheel.
